General
information of Appendicitis
Things you need to know about appendicitis Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix. It is perceived to start when the opening from the appendix to the cecum is blocked and the tissue in the appendix swells. Eventually bacteria, which are normally found within the appendix, will infect its wall and as a result, inflame it. If this ruptures the infection can spread throughout the abdomen. One of the main symptoms of appendicitis is abdominal pain and, at first, it may not be localized to one spot. And because it may not be confined to one spot, the patient may find it difficult to pinpoint which part of the abdomen is causing the pain. It is best to consult a doctor about your pain. The effects of a ruptured appendix can cause problems that can be fatal to the body. Therefore, at the first hint of appendicitis, its wise to see a doctor and undergo an examination of your abdomen, and undergo any indicated tests.
