Appendicitis Testimonial

I was diagnosed with appendicitis

I was diagnosed with appendicitis and my appendix had to be removed. The symptoms were there but I didn’t recognize them at first. I felt pain in the right side of my abdomen, but I didn’t take notice because I thought it was nothing. But, as the day passed by, the pain became so intense that it was really hard for me to move, take a deep breath, cough sneeze and be touched in the right side of my abdomen. Then I decided to consult a doctor.
An appendectomy, where my appendix was removed, was performed on me. I was not allowed to eat or drink before the surgery because it may cause complications with the anesthesia. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days. Thank God my appendix wasn’t ruptured because I would have stayed in the hospital for a longer period of time and would have risked many other complications.
I resumed my normal diet, and restricted my physical activities for more than 3 weeks. I avoided eating gas-producing foods such as nuts and legumes, which are my favorites, for 3 weeks. I took nutritional supplements.
I wouldn’t want to go through that painful experience again. I also don’t want you to experience what I’ve gone through. There is no known way to prevent appendicitis from developing. Our best defense against the disease is to be aware of its characteristic symptoms, so that if you develop appendicitis, you can be treated promptly and recover without complications.
